1/30 - Lotus
Today is day 1 of the #30paintings in 30 days challenge. For my first floral painting I chose to paint a lotus, a spiritual symbol reflective of rebirth, creation and spiritual awakening.
January was a tough month after visiting our families in Buffalo for the holidays. Something in me shifted and I found myself suffering from horrible anxiety. Although so many tears were shed this past month, I feel myself growing and letting go of everything that has been hurting me.
"Like a lotus flower, we too have the ability to rise from the mud, bloom out of darkness and radiate into the world."
This painting, although a bit dark and muddy, is the start of something new. 2018 is truly the year that I let go and let God. Life will keep changing, people will come and go, but I am open and ready for whatever is next.
If you are going through a tough season, have faith that you will get through it and once again bloom.
