Soft ocean blues and greens - a small seascape inspired by the grief and gratitude following the loss of my sweet pup Dax. As I flowed through the emotions of losing him, I reminisced the times we spent together and our favorite place - the beach. He was the happiest when we lived on Long Island and his paws were in the sand. After our move back to Buffalo, as a family, Long Island is our favorite place to return to each summer. Last year we were able to bring Dax with us, and now looking back, we’re so happy he was able to experience it one last time with us.

This painting is about grief, loss and finding gratitude. It’s expressive brushstroke create the feeling of standing barefoot on the shore, smelling the salty air, taking deep breaths and feeling calm and at peace.
