Meet Kristen Laczi

Wife, Mama & Artist

Hello, I’m so glad that you are here! I’m Kristen Laczi, full time Mama, Wife & Artist, residing outside of Buffalo, NY. Before taking the dive into becoming a stay at home mom, I was a corporate graphic designer for 10+ years. When my second son was born, I paused career and shifted into a slower season of life to care for my family. The transition wasn’t easy, although I loved being home with my boys I also felt a deep loss of self. Painting became a deep passion and a form of meditation and self care.

Besides being creative, I love being out in nature, sipping hot cups of coffee, listening to uplifting podcasts, and having deep meaningful conversations with other creatives, family and friends.

About My Art

My artwork is impressionistic and deeply inspired by motherhood, nature and life experiences. I primarily work in acrylic and watercolor and often bounce between the two.

Prior to having our second son, my husband and I lived on Long Island for a couple years and loved every moment of it. We would walk the beaches everyday, finding inspiration and beauty all around us. Whenever I paint the coast, it is often from memories or from our recent travels.

Today, I find the most inspiration in wide open fields and walks within the woods. My sons love these quiet walks and I enjoy hearing their laughter as they experience the world around them.

My Process

I paint quickly and intuitively. So much emotion and energy goes into these pieces that I often look back and wonder how they were even created. My process is a form of meditation, creating intense feelings of joy and peace. My hope is that my viewers feel it too.
